It’s easy to see that Mandy Kumari is a people person. Peter Belcher, real estate gun, and partner at Ray White Takanini, saw it when he met her through a house purchase in 2014. It’s the reason he encouraged her to apply for her salesperson licence earlier this year, and the reason she now has a job with the company. But it’s not the only reason.
Mandy immigrated from India with her parents in 2000, and embarked on a Bachelor of Management, supporting herself with hospitality work at a busy family restaurant chain for the next 11 years, all while raising a family. Showing her excellent work ethic, friendly nature, and sense of humour, she learned first hand the meaning of exceptional customer service. Encouraged to gain her manager’s certificate, Mandy easily fulfilled the responsibilities of shift manager, proving that not only is she great with clients but she has the talent and diplomacy required to manage staff too. A subsequent transition to a merchandising role for multinational food company Cerebos Greggs allowed her to learn the fine art of sales and utilise her natural organisation and time management skills.
With her children more independent, she started to think about a career she could be truly passionate about. Her husband and friends suggested real estate, thinking she’d be a perfect fit with her meticulous attention to detail, superior organisational skills and a preference for staying busy. She contacted the only person she knew in real estate, which luckily, was Peter, and three months later passed her papers with flying colours. Mandy's already sold on her new career, saying that as soon as she began, she realised it was a profession she was very serious about.
In her personal time, Mandy spends a great deal of time with her children and husband, loves a good book, enjoys cooking and is very active at the children’s schools. She assists her extended family as much as possible, and participates in community services through her temple, as well as making regular donations to her favourite charities.
