Office Manager

In October 2016, Carey Van Wyk immigrated from South Africa with her husband. With their first child just nine months old, they sought a safer, healthier environment for their growing family.

Despite the momentous change of parenthood and a foreign residency, Carey has shown strong drive, recently gaining employment with Ray White Manurewa. The backstory is impressive; when Carey was ready to head back to work, she went door knocking, which led to an introduction to the owner, Sue Douglas. Sue saw potential, offering Carey the chance to help out in the office for a couple of weeks, during which time, she proved herself so thoroughly, Sue offered her the demanding role of Office Administrator for the bustling branch.

It doesn’t hurt that Carey’s resume also displays a motivated, capable worker with substantial office and organisational experience. After high school, Carey completed a course designed for personal assistants, and for the next ten years, filled a variety of challenging administration positions in brokerage, construction and real estate companies.

Carey enjoys the refreshing culture of the Ray White Sue Douglas Group’s founding branch, and its busy, young team; her friendly, warm and helpful personality is a good fit. Not the sort of person to leave until the job's done, Carey’s love for steering tasks through to their completion, regardless of obstacles, is exactly the type of trait required for the business’ continued success.

During their leisure time, Carey and her family are focusing on settling in. Her husband and daughter, now a busy toddler, are Carey’s number one priority. Happily, she has two brothers also living in New Zealand, so their weekends are often spent together at the beach or taking their treasured Pekingese, who accompanied them on their brave emigration, for walks to the park.
